Community Guidelines & Website Terms

Welcome to the Un-junk website (the Website). This is a public online engagement platform designed for health promotion community advocacy purposes. The Website aims to shine a light on unhealthy food (and drink) advertising that may negatively impact our food environment, and assist in advocacy for change. The Website is an initiative of Cancer Council Western Australia (Inc) (Cancer Council WA).

General Principles

In making a public post with a photograph to the Website, you agree to comply with the guidelines below.

Upload a clear photo that you have taken of the concerning food advertising, promotion or display.
Ensure images do not include any people, faces or personally identifiable information.
Include the date of the photograph; a description of what the photograph is (including brands captured) and the location.
Include a comment as to why the content of the photograph is concerning to you from a public health or community wellbeing perspective. For example:

“I photographed this [insert what photograph is of (including any brands)] on [date] at [location]. In my opinion this raises public health/community wellbeing concerns because [insert details].”

Please ensure that all comments are accurate and comply with these Community Guidelines and Website Terms.

Ownership of Posted Content

Ownership of photos and content submitted by community members remains vested with the particular community members submitting. Please note, you may only submit a photograph that you have taken.

However, in making a post, you grant Cancer Council WA a perpetual, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, modify, publish and distribute your content to the public in connection with Cancer Council WA’s health promotion, research and advocacy activities. Cancer Council WA will respect creators’ moral rights where reasonable to do so in accordance with applicable law.

Moderation, Corrections and Removal

You agree that all posts to the Website are subject to moderator approval. Please note that Cancer Council WA in its absolute discretion may not approve or may remove or amend content where it is considered incorrect, misleading, contrary to law or otherwise inappropriate.

Respectful and Lawful Conduct

In posting photographs with comments on the Website, please ensure that all photographs and comments are focused on advertising, policies, laws and public health and community wellbeing impacts, and do not include any personal information or criticism regarding other individuals.

You agree not to use the Website or Website content in any of the following ways:

in any way that interferes with the functioning of the Website or other users’ use of the Website;
in any way that undermines the cancer control activities of Cancer Council WA;
in any way that reflects negatively on Cancer Council WA, the Western Australian Health Promotion Foundation or the State of Western Australia;
in a way that identifies any third party individual;
in any way that is defamatory or offensive or harasses any person, including any other community member posting on the Website;
for any commercial purpose;
for any unlawful purpose or activity or in a manner that is contrary to law;
to send unsolicited email messages;
other than as expressly permitted by these terms or in writing by Cancer Council WA.

Brands, Trade Marks and Intellectual Property

All brands and trade marks on the Website are the property of their owners. This Website is independent and not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any fast food outlet or brand. All brands and trade marks are included for identification and critical analysis purposes only.
